Concepcion Interior
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 2153 (February 12, 2010). Getting into position to investigate the rock coatings on target Chocolate Hills (seen here beneath the robotic arm), Opportunity found herself in a good position to image the interior of the 10 meter diameter Concepcion crater.
Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
