Lake Huron Pan  << back to mosaics

Lake Huron Pan

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity during Sols 2078 - 2085 (November 27 - December 5, 2009).  This panorama is made up of several mosaics stitched together. Several targets of interest at the time can be seen, including Marquette Island, the large rock at the bottom that had been undergoing testing with instruments on the robotic arm. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
