Corn Neck Road

Opportunity obtained this false color mosaic in two parts on Sols 1967 (Aug. 5, 2009) and 1968 (Aug. 6, 2009) using Pancam's 753 nm, 535 nm, and 432 nm filters. The field of view is about 35 degrees high and 20 degrees wide.   The view shows a rough line of bedrock exposed through the Martian soil.  Bedrock provides scientists information on Mars' past by showing how rock was formed long ago.  Two versions are offered at full resolution: an approximate true color mosaic, and a false color stretch to bring out subtle color differences in the scene.
