Tsiolkovsky Ridge

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1893 (April 30, 2009). The field of view is approximately 93 degrees wide, and shows a ridge to the west of Home Plate. The flat plains of Gusev Crater can be seen in the distance. This image was taken very close to the area where Spirit ultimately became permanently embedded. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
