Discovery Rim Part 2

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1856 (Apr. 13, 2009). The view shows a portion of the rim of Discovery Crater, a small crater about 3 meters in diameter, encountered on the plains between Victoria Crater and Endeavor Crater. The shadow in the lower right frame was cast by the camera bar on the top of the mast. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are offered at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene..
