Western Route

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1851 (Mar. 18, 2009).  The view was taken from the rover's location at the North edge of Home Plate, and shows the route to the West. The field of view is approximately 70 degrees wide. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used to make this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
