Ripple Close Up |
||||
This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on Sol 1823 (Mar. 10, 2009). The image shows a portion of a nearby ripple. Fine lateral bands near its crest can be seen particularly well in the false color stretch. The field of view is approximately 18 degrees wide. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are offered at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene..
