Back Roads

This image was taken on Sol 180 (July 26, 2004) by the Opportunity rover to document its investigations during its ingress into Endurance crater. Opportunity's tracks are visible in the upper right corner, framing a trail of RAT grinds, which appear bright orange in the false color stretch. The distance from outer edge to outer edge of the rover tracks is 122 cm. The mosaic is made from Pancam's 432 nm, 535 nm, and 753 nm filters. Two versions are available at full resolution: an approximate true-color rendering, and a false color rendering to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
