Cape Verde

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity over Sols 1570 - 1578 (June 23 - July 1, 2008). The view shows the Cape Verde promontory in Victoria Crater. The field of view is approximately 120 degrees wide. The visible seam between frames is caused by dust buildup on Pancam's front sapphire window. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in making this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph to simulate the scene in 3D through red-blue glasses.
