Drive Direction

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 1087 (January 23, 2007).  The field of view is about 57 degrees wide and shows the terrain in the direction of an upcoming drive. The bright soil deposit in the center of the mosaic, Tyrone, was excavated while the rover was driving through the area about 300 sols earlier. The rover tracks visible in the bottom right of this mosaic can also be seen in the top frame of the Sol 983 Tracks mosaic. Pancam's 432 nm filter was used in making this mosaic.  Two versions are provided at full resolution: a mosaic made from the left eye only, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses.
