Photometric West

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 103 (April 17, 2004). The field of view is 16 degrees wide and was also taken twice on Sol 102. This image was taken at approximately 10:00 LST. See an earlier mosaic here. Part of Spirit's right wing and solar panels can be seen in the lower frame. The black rectangle in the top frame is a data dropout resulting from incomplete transfer of data between Mars and Earth. Pancam's 753nm, 601nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Three versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing through red-blue glasses.
