This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 058 (March 2, 2004). The view, which is roughly 30 degrees across, shows a rock and boulder field stretching to the southeastern horizon. The specific target of this mosaic, named "Frontier," is the large rock in the bottom center of the view. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 432nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
