This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 051 (February 24, 2004). It shows Spirit's workvolume, the area just in front of the rover where the Instrument Deployment Device (IDD) can reach. The view covers about 30 degrees, both vertically and horizontally. The front edge of the rover deck can be seen at the very bottom of the image. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
