Lander Tracks

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 042 (February 14, 2004). The image shows the rover's tracks leading back to the lander. For a sense of scale, the distance between the two parallel tracks is approximately 1 meter (3.3 feet). Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in this mosaic.  Three versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene, and a stereo anaglyph for 3D viewing with red blue glasses.
