This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 037 (February 9, 2004). Spirit set a drive record of 21.2 meters on this sol, and Pancam took a survey of the Instrument Deployment Device (IDD) workvolume at the end of the drive. Workvolume surveys have been routine as resources allow, so that targets of opportunity will not be missed in long traverses. Pancam's 753nm, 535nm, and 482nm filters were used in this mosaic. Two versions are available below at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color stretch to enhance the subtle color differences in the scene.
