Sleepy Hollow Ripple  << back to mosaics

Sleepy Hollow Ripple

This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 014 (January 17, 2004). The view shows an area known as Sleepy Hollow, where the bounce mark left by an airbag can be seen near the center of the image. Pancam's 753nm, 601nm, and 432nm filters were used to make this mosaic. Two versions are provided at full resolution: an approximate true color rendering, and a false color rendering which enhances the subtle color differences in the scene.
