Endurance Hills

         This mosaic was acquired by the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit on Sol 008 (January 10, 2004). The view shows the Columbia Hills from Spirit's location atop the lander. This mosaic was taken post stand-up, before driving off the lander, and the hills are about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) away. Pancam's 482nm left eye filter was used to make this mosaic, which is provided at full resolution in the link to the right.
